After missing his last start on Friday due to food poisoning, he supposedly has still been suffering from the same ailment and has been pulled from his start once again.
The fact is that he really did have food poisoning on Friday. It’s plausbile to think, however, that Jim Bowden would finally drop his exorbitant asking price, with the deadline looming and the fact that the asking price for Eric Gagne has dropped- the Mets have reportedly refused to give up Carlos Gomez for him- who’s to the most of the baseball universe a better option than Cordero.
I personally have no problem with dealing Humber for A), a reliever that’s a type A free agent next year and ultimately, would land us a 1st round draft pick should he leave via free agency, or B) a reliever, such as Cordero, who’s under control for more than the rest of this year.
