For awhile now, John Sickels at Minor League Ball has been doing prospect smackdowns between similar players, often in terms of potential, and sometimes in relation to last name.

At Flushing University, I recently wrote an article about Fernando Martinez and how he compares to other top outfiled prospects in the game. This, I hoped, would touch on the idea of prospect ranking, and how to handle correlation between age and level accordingly.

Interesting to see Jason Jacobs behind the plate. Both he and Yasmil Bucce are struggling at this point, and in my opinion, Edgar Alfonzo probably just optioned for Bucce at DH because he needs some rest, but the former GCL all-star looks behind on pitches often, while Jacobs, who put up stellar OBP. numbers at [...]
