Following a horrendous May, (6.43 era.) Jason Vargas’s luck finally turned the other way, as he’s pitched six innings or more in his last six starts, compiling an era. of 3.23 in June.
Similarly, Anderson Hernandez, who’s been all but forgotten, is htting .327/.357/.413 in the month of June.
Really, I think it’s the same thing with Caleb Stewart’s [...]

Just for those of you that are wondering why we’re missing a second straight day of game recaps, the Cyclones were rained out last night.
Also, it isn’t all hell, as due to the big club’s rainout, Mike Pelfrey won’t be starting the second game of the doubleheader tonight. There isn’t much else to talk about [...]

Part of what I consider a very solid 2006 draft class, Tobi Stoner was selected in the 16th round of the 2006 draft, and graduated from Davis and Elkins with the pedigree of a two-way player. (He hit .465 with eight HR’s his senior year.) He got off to a mediocre start at Brooklyn in [...]

Yesterday for the GCL Mets, 19 year old Gavin Dlouhy was dominant in three innings of work, striking out six.
In five inning thus far, he has a 1.80 era., with eight strikeouts and two walks.
At Flushing University in February, I wrote an article on all the Mets Aussie guys.
On Dlouhy:

The buzz is that Cyclones pitcher Todd Privett is likely to have season ending injury on what they’re calling is a torn ligament in his elbow, after Privett said he felt a “pop” in his arm in his last start.
Know, I doubt that was the reason Edgar Alfonzo took him out after his last start, [...]

As a complementary version to Sickels work, we though it would be apropos to compare two prospects who’s parent club are currently playing against each other.
Philip Humber and [...]

At Flushing University, I recently wrote an article about Fernando Martinez and how he compares to other top outfiled prospects in the game. This, I hoped, would touch on the idea of prospect ranking, and how to handle correlation between age and level accordingly.
Quote: “But this past week, Mets fans seemed to develop that paranoiac [...]
